Although my family have used A H Rogers for years this was the first time I had had to be involved in the organisation of a funeral.
Helen held my hand and led me through the process so compassionately and professionally. From the very first call the day after my mum died I knew Helen and the team would help us give her the service she deserved, without their support and guidance I really feel we would have been lost.
During the first meeting Helen immediately sensed our family dynamic, she really got our humour for which we will always be grateful as it made such a difficult time so much easier to deal with.
Helen connected us with a fantastic celebrant and made sure despite certain challenges that everything she could effect went fantastically well. Despite our never-ending calls nothing was ever too much trouble and they led us through the process amazingly.
My Brother, Father and I will always be grateful, however we hope we don’t see them all too soon. THANK YOU to all involved.

The service my family received from A H Rogers and Sons, Shirley Branch, was excellent, without exception, all staff were wonderful. The main contact for our family was Sarah, she was compassionate and professional, and guided us through the very difficult task of arranging the funeral. On the day of the funeral, Helen led the funeral team, and took very good care of our family. She was so kind and caring, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to her and the team for all they did.

From our first contact with AH Rodgers & Sons following the death of my mother, Helen and her team treated our family with the utmost respect, understanding and sympathy.
I can honestly say that without the professional and sensitive help from Helen, we would have been a bit lost. Nothing was to much trouble and the service provided was exemplary. I have no hesitation in recommending the placing a loved one into the care of A.H.Rodgers & Sons.
Thank you Helen and all, for making an emotionally stressful time for our family, more bearable and at times more cheerful, but always in a dignified and caring manner.

Helen Craddock, Funeral Director from AH Rogers and her team were fantastic. Helen immediately recognised the level she could talk to us on, picked a brilliant celebrate/officiate who fitted us and the service we wanted. She was brilliant in the way that she guided us through the initial meeting and through the funeral service. Cannot express my thanks any more highly for her help and support.

I haven’t experienced the service itself but I felt compelled to write this review (bear with me!). For about three years now, my now five year old daughter and I pass this shop on our walk home. There is the same lady in there, and my daughter loves waving to her as we pass. I think the customer service in there must be amazing for this lady has always, over three years, smiled and waved back at my daughter! This has sometimes bypassed a 2/3 yr old meltdown when not wanting to go home because I could persuade her by saying she could “wave to the nice lady in the window” as we walk home.
So perhaps not your traditional review, but I wanted to say thanks for making mine and my little girl’s day brighter. I would feel in safe hands if I had need of such a service, and you as a company should be proud of your staff.

I would just like to say a deeply sincere Thank You to Sarah and all her colleagues at A H Rogers & Sons Funeral Directors, Hedge End, who were involved in my dear Brothers funeral arrangements and service on 31st July 2025. The Celebrant Sonja was absolutely amazing, sincerely empathetic and put the families needs first every time. Nothing was too much for her. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

It’s taken me time to consider this review. Firstly I can only thank every one of the team for their care, consideration and compassion. My Dad, Brothers and I were put at ease with the way the team took care of mum. At a really difficult time they just managed to ‘calm the storm’.

To add to that Helen was amazing at keeping us informed of the process, what needed to happen when and how. Not only that and as strange as it might seem, Helen just understood our ‘family humour’! In what was a stressful situation, having the freedom to laugh about things was a welcome relief.

On the day, Charlotte was amazing, dealt with the service in a way that made us all comforted. Even with the odd surprise she did an amazing job.

AH Roger’s & Sons Shirley deserve more than just this review. From the moment myself & family walked into the first meet after devastating loss of our mum we was greeted with compassion, care and empathy. Sarah Kester is a lovely lady, she took time to explain every step of the way, stuff we had no clue about as never had to plan for a such an awful tragic time. She really did go above & beyond for us, nothing was left undone. My mums funeral was beautiful.

In moments where emotions were high and decisions seemed overwhelming, Sarah remained calm, respectful and really was there to help.

Even after the funeral, Sarah has kept contact and is helping with burial of ashes when it comes to my mums year anniversary.

I can’t thank AH Roger’s & Sons enough. Especially Sarah.
