In 1881, Arthur Henry Rogers and his wife Jane opened AH Rogers & Sons Funeral Directors as a builders and undertakers in Market Street, Eastleigh. Over the years, each of their five sons worked at various building trades and also assisted at funerals. In fact its Eastleigh branch has been operating at the same premises since that time, not long after the town itself was founded.
Grandson Stanley took over management of the company in 1952. From 1973 A H Rogers & Sons has been solely a funeral directors and monumental masons – steadily expanding to the present four branches across the Southampton area.
The firm has served many generations of established families from Eastleigh and the surrounding towns and villages, as well as those who have moved here more recently.
The local community has changed and grown a great deal over the years, and AH Rogers has changed and grown with it. We are now often called upon to provide traditional funerals as well as more contemporary services in and around Eastleigh and our newer branches in West End, Hedge End, Shirley and Romsey, all of which are accessible.
